Under Wifaq ul Madaris Al-Arabia Pakistan, the country’s largest religious examination board, hundreds of thousands of students participated in the annual exams this year. Over 116,000 Hifz and more than 550,000 students across 21 levels appeared in the examinations.
A key stage in preparing the results is the transparent checking and marking of millions of answer sheets, completed within 10–11 days. This year, the number of candidates increased by over 28,000 compared to last year, leading to a rise in examiners as well.
A total of 3,877 exam centers submitted approximately 3.25 million answer sheets, weighing over 100 metric tons. These were securely transported to the central office in Multan. To ensure fairness, student identity slips are removed and replaced with coded roll numbers before marking.
For the past few years, the marking process has been conducted across four provinces due to the large scale. This year, marking took place at five locations (including two in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa). Thousands of examiners, supervisors, and support staff participated in the process.
